After the merger, Mike Gifford, left, will serve as ARCW’s president and CEO and Daniel Guinn will serve as its vice president of compliance and general counsel. |
The new entity will remain under the ARCW name; the current president and CEO of ARCW, Mike Gifford, will serve in that capacity under the merged organization.
ARCW will continue its HIV work by building community partnerships in Madison and southern Wisconsin, but it will close its small Madison office and move into the current space of AIDS Network.
“Our board has evaluated this wonderful opportunity thoroughly over the past nine months and fully supports it,” said AIDS Network executive director Daniel Guinn in the release. “The merger assures the continuity of all the services we provide, the opportunity to enhance our programs and the continuation of our hallmark events like the Wisconsin AIDS Ride, the Red Ribbon Affair and Camp Bingo.”
After the merger, Guinn will serve as ARCW’s vice president of compliance and general counsel.
ARCW estimates that each year it will serve 4,000 HIV-positive people in Wisconsin.
