About.com, an online information and resource site, has selected its top 20 HIV/AIDS charities for 2013. Only organizations whose missions are solely dedicated to HIV/AIDS were considered. The criteria included: spending at least 75 percent of cash budget on programs, raising $100 from every $15 spent fundraising, not holding more than three years of available assets in reserve, and operating with financial transparency. Here are the groups in alphabetical order: Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, AIDS Emergency Fund, AIDS Foundation Houston, AIDS Project Los Angeles, AIDS United, amfAR, Bailey House, Black AIDS Institute, Cascade AIDS Project, Desert AIDS Project, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance, GMHC, International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, Keep a Child Alive, mothers2mothers, Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation, Project Inform, and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
