If a picture’s worth a thousand words, the KOOL Kids must be speechless. A University of Miami support group for young people who contracted HIV at birth, KOOL Kids has integrated photography into its program. Now the young people, ages 8 through 24, have a lens for sharing their experiences of living with the virus.
This past October, around 30 of the group’s 600 photos were displayed in Miami’s Dolphin Mall (greenff.org). KOOL Kid shutterbug Quintara Lane, 21, says, “We live a normal life, and that’s what we wanted to show everyone.”
