Alicia Keys has launched an HIV awareness campaign for women in the United States, CNN reports. The first phase of “Empowered” features a video of the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter with five HIV-positive U.S. women. The domestic focus is new for Keys, who until now has done most of her AIDS advocacy abroad, in particular as a cofounder of Keep a Child Alive, which has raised millions of dollars to care for people with HIV in Africa and India.
