The government of Armenia has lifted all travel restrictions on people with HIV, according to a Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) statement. The reform took effect July 14. According to UNAIDS, 48 nations, territories and areas still limit the ability of HIV-positive people to visit, stay or establish residency. Five countries continue to deny visas for short-term stays to people with HIV, and 22 countries continue to deport HIV-positive people when their status is discovered.
